Terms of use
Last changed: 27 Sep 2026
These terms apply to the use of Restoradar (restoradar.no). By creating an account you accept them.
Restoradar is provided by a private individual (contact: kontakt@restoradar.no) – “we” in these terms. Who that is, is stated in the privacy policy.
The service
Restoradar shows public inspection results from Mattilsynet (the Norwegian Food Safety Authority) for food-service businesses, with filters and lists. The service is free today. Content and features may change, and the service may be discontinued. Paid services will have their own terms, and nothing is ever charged unless you choose it yourself.
Account
- Accounts are for businesses with a Norwegian organisation number. Each account is personal and tied to one email address; colleagues create their own accounts.
- In the free version each company can have up to 2 accounts. To prevent bulk copying, the number of pages with restaurant names is limited per company and day (300); after that the lists are shown without names until midnight.
- In the free version each company can export up to 100 new restaurants to Excel per calendar month, shared by all the company’s accounts. Restaurants the company has already exported in the same month can be exported again that month without counting; from the next month they count again. Every export is logged (who, when, which filters, how many rows and which restaurants), and the file is marked with the company that exported it and an export ID.
- If your company needs larger limits, you can ask for them under “My account”. We decide on each request case by case and answer by email.
- Keep your password secret, and tell us if you think someone else has got access.
- We may close an account in case of misuse, a breach of these terms, or if the details given at registration turn out to be wrong.
- You can delete your account at any time under “My account”.
Use of the data
- You may use the data in your own business, for example to find and contact possible customers.
- You may not copy the service or large parts of the data automatically (scraping), and you may not resell or publish the lists from Restoradar.
- When you pass data on, name the sources: Mattilsynet (CC BY 4.0) and the Brønnøysund Register Centre (NLOD).
- You may not use the data to single out businesses publicly, for example in “worst restaurants” lists.
Marketing
You are responsible for making sure that your contact with businesses follows the Norwegian Marketing Control Act (markedsføringsloven) and data protection law. Marketing by email or text message to sole proprietorships (ENK) requires prior consent (markedsføringsloven § 15).
Liability
The data comes from public sources and is shown as it is. It may contain errors or be out of date, and a finding describes the situation on the day of the inspection. Restoradar is not affiliated with Mattilsynet. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss from using the service or the data.
Changes
We may change these terms. For important changes, registered users are told by email before the changes apply.
Transfer
The service and this agreement may be transferred to a company founded to run Restoradar. The company then takes over our rights and obligations under these terms. You will be told by email before that happens, and you can delete your account if you do not want to continue.
Law and contact
Norwegian law applies. Questions: kontakt@restoradar.no. How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.
